Yusen Logistics seals renewable energy supply deal with Ayala’s ACEN RES

09 February 2026 –  Yusen Logistics Philippines, Inc., a leading global supply chain provider, has signed a supply agreement with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES), the retail electricity unit of the Ayala group, to power its head office in Parañaque City with 100% renewable energy, marking a significant step in the company’s environmental sustainability efforts.

Mitsutaka Matsubara, President of Yusen Logistics, said the company is moving steadily toward its climate goals, which include reducing its GHG emissions by 45% by 2030 (from a 2022 baseline) and achieving Net Zero emissions for all its services by 2050.

He noted that this mission is centered on the philosophy of Jibun-goto, a mindset that “embodies the proactive choice of taking ownership of challenges rather than expecting them to resolve on their own.”

Sheila Mina, Vice President and Head of Account Management, ACEN RES, said: “We are proud to welcome Yusen Logistics into our growing portfolio of partners committed to corporate sustainability. By choosing to source 100% renewable energy through the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), Yusen Logistics demonstrates decisive leadership in decarbonizing the logistics sector. We are also delighted to award them our ‘Powered by Renewable Energy’ badge, symbolizing their commitment to a cleaner future and encouraging more businesses to join the Philippines’ crucial energy transition.”

The transition is being facilitated under the government’s GEOP,  a voluntary policy mechanism established under the Renewable Energy Act of 2008 that empowers eligible electricity end-users to directly choose and source 100% of their power requirements from licensed renewable energy suppliers such as ACEN RES.

ACEN RES is currently the dominant player in the program, holding a 57% market share as the top GEOP supplier, according to the Energy Regulatory Commission’s (ERC) latest Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM) report.
