Currently under construction in the Sekong and Attapeu provinces of Lao PDR, Monsoon Wind is Southeast Asia’s first cross-border wind project, set to export electricity to Vietnam. Once completed, it will also be the first wind power project in Lao PDR and the largest wind farm in Asia. This groundbreaking project represents a significant advancement in regional renewable energy collaboration, harnessing Lao PDR’s wind resources to meet Vietnam’s energy needs and support Southeast Asia’s clean energy transition.

  • Community initiatives by Monsoon Wind

    Educational support in Lao PDR: Monsoon Wind’s contributions to schools, including nutritional programs and educational aids, address ‘Health and Wellness’ and ‘Access to Basic Knowledge’, supporting both physical health and educational needs. Through the Monsoon Wind farm in Lao PDR, we were able to champion the wellness of students living near our project site.

    ACEN’s Monsoon Wind signs financing for its 600 MW wind project, the first wind power project in Lao PDR 10 April 2023 - ACEN, the energy platform of the Ayala group and through its subsidiary ACEN Renewables International Pte. Ltd., signed the financing documents for the non-recourse project financing for the Monsoon Wind, the first wind power project in Lao PDR.
