Promoting energy self-reliance IslaSol is helping the province of Negros Occidental transition to renewable energy through the installation of around 50 solar rooftop panels in the Annex Building of La Carlota City Public Market, which houses several key local government offices. The installed 25 kW solar energy generation requires no battery and connects directly to the power grid, allowing La Carlota City to save on energy costs of approximately ₱200,000 per year.
Information drive on renewable energy Promoting renewable energy among students in its host community remains part of IslaSol’s advocacy. Its pioneer Renewable Energy Advocacy Drive (READ) at La Carlota City aims to teach pupils the importance of clean energy in the environment and encourage them to practice sustainability at a young age.
Community impact through environmental initiatives IslaSol’s environmental and social initiatives are geared towards improving the lives of the communities it serves in Negros Occidental. Its green activities such as River Clean Up and tree planting are much valued by the local government because of their good impact in the surrounding communities. IslaSol also strengthens stakeholder ties through education and COVID-19 initiatives.
